Arrival Procedures
For security reasons, no parents will be allowed into the building before 8:20 AM. After 8:30 AM, parents are allowed to visit the Main Office. Remember to bring Identification to show to the agent upon entrance.
Early Arrivals:
- 7:30 AM for hot/cold breakfast
- 8:15 AM K-5 students are escorted to their classrooms
- 8:20 AM K-5 attendance and instruction begins
3K/Pre-K Arrival Procedures: 3K and Pre-K will have staggered and dismissal time. Their day will begin at 8:10AM. Any parents who arrive with their children between 8:00AM and 8:20AM will be allowed into their child's classroom. If they enter later than 8:20AM, they will need to sign their child in and a paraprofessional or school aide will walk them to their classrooms.
Kindergarten to Fifth Grade Arrival Procedures: Doors open at 7:30AM for early arrivals for hot breakfast. Students may enter the building through aisle A. Doors remain open until 8:20AM. Instruction begins promptly at 8:20AM.
Late Arrival Procedures
Please arrive at school on time each day. Kindergarten through 5th Grade students are marked late if they are not in their classrooms by 8:20 AM.
- Students who arrive late are to enter through the main entrance escorted by a parent or designee to the front safety desk.
- The parent or designee will sign the student into the late book.
Students will then be escorted to their classrooms by school personnel.
Dismissal Procedures
3K/Pre-K: Students will dismissed from their classrooms. Doors will open beginning at 2:20PM.
Kindergarten to Fifth Grade: Students will be dismissed from their classroom line up spots. Parents will wait on 34th Avenue. Students staying for after school programs will be taken to their after school program classroom by 2:40 PM. Students that are not picked up by 2:40 PM will remain in the Main Lobby. After 2:40 PM parents/guardians must sign at the security desk, to pick their child.
Inclement Weather
When the weather is too cold or inclement we will have a staff member at each outside gate. The child will enter the building through their designated exit A or B, and be directed to go to the cafeteria. We will have signs posted where they should stand. Their classroom teacher will be waiting for them. Dismissal will be outside so please be on time.
Rainy Days: Please be sure your child has a raincoat or an umbrella. Dismissal is outdoors regardless of the inclement weather.
In the case of inclement weather, the Mayor will announce whether schools will be open or not and whether schools will be working remotely. The Department of Education will post this information on their website home page www.schools.nyc.gov, and on the following Twitter handle: @nycmayorsoffice.
Window of Security
Arrival
For security reasons, no parents will be allowed into the building prior to 8:40 am. Once doors close at 8:20 AM and the school day begins, to visit the Main Office, please enter the building through the Main Entrance on 34th Avenue after 8:40 AM. All visitors MUST SHOW PROOF OF ID!
Dismissal
Again, for security reasons, no parents will be allowed into the building before 2:35 PM. If you need to pick up your child earlier than regular dismissal time, please send a written note to your child's classroom teacher or call the Main Office. We ask that you pick up your child before 2:30 PM so that you do not disrupt regular dismissal procedures. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
