Basketball Team
This season, many 398 Dragons stepped up to fill big and important roles on the basketball team. Our players worked hard at every practice, building their basketball skills while learning the value of teamwork and sportmanship. Most importantly, they had fun and supported one another along the way. When our players look back on their time at 398, they will remember being part of the Dragons Basketball Team and the special memories they made together.

Cheerleading Team
The PS 398Q Dragons Cheer Team is a spirited group of student leaders who proudly represent our school with enthusiasm, teamwork, and positivity. The cheerleading team is open to students in grades 3–5. On the team, members learn various cheers, chants, sideline routines, basic stunting fundamentals, and choreographed performances. Our team proudly cheers on the Dragons Basketball Team during home and away games, bringing energy and excitement to every game. In addition to sideline cheers and chants, the cheerleaders perform choreographed halftime routines that showcase their hard work, coordination, and school spirit. Every season, our team also participates in the District 30 Cheerleading Expo, where students have the opportunity to perform their chants and choreographed routines for other cheerleading teams in the district. This special event allows our cheerleaders to showcase their hard work, growth, teamwork, and dedication.

Debate Team
Our school’s Debate Team is a proud member of the American Debate League for the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 school years, giving students the opportunity to develop debating, speaking, and literacy skills through training and tournaments. Each year, students research a debate topic and build persuasive arguments and rebuttals, strengthening critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking. Though our team is new, we’ve already competed in three tournaments, earned multiple individual medals, and won a first-place team trophy this year. If you want to build confidence, think critically, and strengthen your voice, consider joining our growing and successful Debate Team!

Newspaper Club
The Newspaper Club gives students the chance to become young journalists and share what’s happening in our school community. Members work together to write articles, conduct interviews, take photos, and design pages for the school newspaper. Students learn important skills such as researching, writing, editing, and teamwork while reporting on school events, student achievements, and topics that matter to them. Newspaper Club is a great way for students to express their ideas, build confidence, and keep our school community informed.
