PTA President- Victoria Medelius

victoria medelius and son PA PresidentMy name is Victoria Medelius and my son is in the 1st grade. I was born and raised in Queens and am so proud to call it home. I have a Bachelors in Social Work and am currently working on getting my Masters in Social Work. I enjoy spending time with my sons, loved ones and making memories! I am a product of District 30 schools and community is something I am extremely passionate about. My hope for the 2022-2023 school year is to foster and strengthen relationships amongst students, families and the PS 398 team. I look forward to hearing from you and working together to make this year a success!

I'm a father of two wonderful children. The older one will turn five this winter and is in Kindergarten at PS398Q. The younger one is just turning one year old at the beginning of the school year. By day I'm a software engineer for Disney+. In my spare time I enjoy ice hockey, music, and visiting Queens' many cultural offerings including the zoo, botanical gardens, and the Hall of Science.

I am the proud mom of 2 energetic boys, Adrian (8 years old) and Amari (2.5 years old).  We are lucky to live in the neighborhood - my husband,  Amadeo Plaza, is a native New Yorker and he introduced us to Jackson Heights back in 2016. Adrian is in the 3rd grade DL class and I hope that Amari will be joining 3K in September 2023.  As you can see in the picture, Adrian is not a fan of photos, but alas, I am - we are shown visiting my alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  
 
I've worked for Accenture for my entire career and have focused on the life sciences / pharma industry.  
 
I love to read and welcome book recommendations!  I'm also passionate about our broader JH community and enjoy the opportunity to connect with others, especially those in our school community.
